Morgane returns to her village after a terrorist alert was triggered due to a resident seeing a ghost. As she films her relatives in their power dynamics, she understands that they are more connected to this event than she thought. Through the making of the film, she gets closer to her dad and her cousin, who share the same dream: leaving the village.

Morgane Dziurla-Petit
French filmmaker based in Sweden. She studied Cinema at the New Sorbonne University in Paris and Film Production at Cannes. Her first short film The Day (2018) was selected by the Göteborg IFF. Excess Will Save Us (2019) was awarded Best Short Film at Tempo Documentary Film Festival and Clermont-Ferrand. Excess Will Save Us (2022) marks her feature film debut.
